HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BEYONCE

Beyonce’s Birthday: Queen Bey Turns 33 On September 4 — Happy Birthday

Beyoncé’s year really kicked off in earnest in Dec. 2013, when she confirmed her place as Queen of the Universe when she released the 14-track Beyoncé out of nowhere. No one even had any idea she had been working on a new album, and it was the awesome power of Beyoncé and her team which somehow, miraculously, kept leaks from the press. It was totally unheard of!

Not only was she a devoted wife and mother at the time of recording, but she was also touring for The Mrs. Carter Show whose February dates would add tracks from the new album. The tour spanned 132 shows over 4 continents from April 2013 to March 2014, earning a massive $219 million dollars.
Not long after, Bey and husband Jay Z would announce their joint On The Run tour which launched in June and concluded after 19 dates in August; however, due to the tour’s massive popularity, two September dates have been added in Paris, France.

Beyoncé No Stranger To Controversy In 2014

While her music career was bigger than ever, Beyoncé was no stranger to controversy — the “elevator incident” from the Met Ball on May 5 has become the stuff of legend, after a video leaked of Solange Knowles attacking Jay Z in an elevator at The Standard in New York City.
Beyoncé, queen that she is, later made light of the incident in her “***Flawless” remix featuring Nicki Minaj: “We escalating, up in this bitch like elevators / Of course sometimes shit go down / When it’s a billion dollars on an elevator.”
Bey and Jay have been dogged by divorce rumors ever since the “elevator incident,” but they don’t seem to be letting that get them down: when Beyoncé performed at the Video Music Awards to accept the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, she did so with Jay and daughter Blue Ivy, 2, right there with her.
Speaking of her performance at the VMAs:

She’s the best.
Unfortunately, many were incredibly misguided about the message that Bey was putting forward, believing that it’s impossible to wear a bodysuit and shake your booty while also being a feminist. The very distilled point, friends, is that Beyoncé has the choice to do whatever she wants and should not have to have her every move questioned.
Who’s questioning Matthew McConaughey‘s intelligence when he takes off his shirt every second? Or Channing Tatum‘s? If you say something about a woman and apply it to a man and it sounds totally ridiculous, it’s probably sexist. Just saying!
Who doesn’t like to feel ***Flawless, without caring what anybody — man or woman — has to say about it?

Tell ‘em, Bey.
That said, if you disagree with Beyoncé’s stance on feminism (remember that a feminist is simply a “person who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes”), you still have got to agree that Beyoncé is incredible.
