Bobby Brown, American R$B/Pop singer and former husband of late music diva, Whitney Houston arrived Lagos, Nigeria, Tuesday for his first African tour.
It was gathered that the former band member of 80s all-male group New Edition, breezed into the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in a private jet alongside his colleague and friend, Bell Biv Devoe, (New Edition).
Speaking with some select journalists on arrival, Bobby Brown expressed his happiness touching down in Africa for the first time.
“I’m happy to be here, but men, its hot here. I can’t wait to perform this weekend,” he said.
Also, other members of the band said they are excited about this trip and looking forward to connecting with African fans and talent.
Meanwhile, Brown and the New Edition will Friday lead a pack of Nigerian stars to Eko Hotel and Suite for what promises to be a night of explosive performances and electrifying showmanship.
The concert dubbed ‘New Edition In Concert’ will also on Sunday 11 March, move to Polo Club, Port Harcourt, with the singer and his band mates thrilling fun lovers in the city and others from neighbouring Niger Delta states, for another spectacular show.
At the big budget concert organised by R28 Events, it will be the first time the band (Brown and New Edition) will be performing in Nigeria, a country where they have millions of fans and followers. It is also their first time performing on the African continent.
The group will join a growing list of Nigerian artistes like Omawumi, Banky W and eLDee for the concert.
“The participation of the American band in the inaugural concert will further enhance the growing international recognition of our music industry.
“The show will see the superstars give their first full performance in Nigeria, before nearly 10,000 fans; as they show in living colours, the star quality that wowed music fans back in the 80s,” an official of R28 Event promised.
