Pope Benedict XVI announced today he will resign as leader of the world's 1.1 billion Catholics on February 28 because his age prevented him from carrying out his duties -- an unprecedented move in the modern history of the Catholic Church.
Pope Benedict XVI resigned his office Monday, effective Feb. 28, making him one of only a few pontiffs in history to voluntarily abdicate.But after seeing the above photo of St. Peter’s, some on social media speculated that perhaps Benedict’s boss (God) wasn’t too pleased by his decision.
