AFCON 2013: ‘It’s Not My Twitter Account’ Emmanuel Eboue Says He Didn’t Diss Super Eagles.

Emmanuel Eboue is in almost every Nigerian’s bad books right now over a set of derogatory statements he says he didn’t utter.
Last week, a Twitter account with the handle @TheRealEboue had teased and (kind of insulted) the Super Eagles of Nigeria saying the Nigerian team shouldn’t celebrate their advancement to the quarterfinals as their journey in the 2013 African Nations Cup will be short lived when they faced his Ivorian national side.
‘Congrat to Nigeria . Don’t celebrate too much cuz we are coming for you. We are going to eat you like fufu. Sorry guys, point of correction. We are going to eat Nigeria like #SuperFriedChickens’, @TheRealEboue tweeted.
Shortly after this was reported, Eboue came out to disclaim the tweets, explaining that he isn’t the owner of the Twitter account, according to Nigerian sports analyst Collin Udoh.
But Nigerians felt the Ivorian player had drawn first blood and when the Super Eagles defeated the elephants of Cote d’ivoire, they descended on him.
The @TheRealEboue has however updated its profile, admitting it is a parody account (there are three other Eboue accounts on Twitter)
